Published over 150 scientific papers, edited and co-authored several books. Implemented research programs in Egypt, Libya, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Participated in many international conferences. English-Arabic translation of environmental articles for Scientific American.

The book assumes you'll already an expert programmer in matlab. The examples are confusing and the sample code usually isn't helpful.

Not sure who this book was written for

I am very disappointed with this book. It is not written for physics students, because there is no discussion on physics. And it's not written for a student learning how to code Matlab. I guess the intended audience are people who are very experienced with Matlab and who want to learn how to code physics problems?????? The only audience I can gather are computer science majors doubling in mathematics and getting a minor in physics? I have learned VERY little from this book. I don't even know how to write a for loop after two and a half months. The authors assume I already know everything they are talking about in this book...Oh, that's right, I forgot I already learned everything I need to know about recursive series in my freshman year of college! Of course, one sentence is plenty of explanation!! The presentation is extremely formal, and I really don't know who gave these authors the OK to call it an introductory book. That is hardly the case!

Chapter IX deals first with relativistic kinematics and dynamics, then offers an exposition of modern treatment of relativistic hydrodynamics. Chapter X introduces Dirac’s matrix calculus. Two especially valuable features of the book are the exercises at the end of each chapter, and a summary of the mathematical theory contained in the first five chapters — ideal for readers whose primary interest is in physics rather than mathematics.

An abridged version of Schouten's earlier treatise

In recent times it has become fashionable to derogate the classical tensor analysis cultivated by such pioneers as Levi-Civita, Schouten and Eisenhart. Modern critics refer to such works as a "sea of indices", the reading of which is likened to "chasing shadows". It is true that this style of tensor analysis does not uphold the standards of rigor set forth by the Bourbaki school of presentation, but, in light of the fact that the language has changed so drastically since the writing of this book, it would be fair to treat the classical theory as a separate subject, of interest in its own right.

This book offers a valuable, yet not entirely self-contained, introduction to classical tensor analysis. As a beginner, I found the text to be too terse and was forced to consult other sources, such as Levi-Civita's "Absolute Differential Calculus" and Eisenhart's "Riemannian Geometry". Once I had gained some familiarity with the basic notions, Schouten's book became the preferred reference. The author develops an extremely precise notation which he calls the "kernel-index method" and systematically applies it as a problem solving tool throughout the book. Looking back, it is difficult to say how I ever got along without it.

Unfortunately, the book's terseness is due in part to the fact that the first five chapters are basically abridged excerpts from the author's lengthier 1954 treatise, "Ricci-Calculus". In nearly every respect, the aforementioned title is more complete than the present book. In the interest of saving space for the physical applications in the second half of the text, the author omitted important details, such as an adequate definition of manifold and the role of the vector field which generates the infinitesimal transformations used in discussing Lie derivatives.

For classical tensor analysis, Schouten's "Ricci-Calculus" (1954) and "Pfaff's Problem and its Generalizations" (1949, but still in print) are both excellent. For the modern theory, I have found Noll: Finite Dimensional Spaces; Choquet-Bruhat et al: Analysis, Manifolds and Physics, Part I and II; Spivak: A Comprehensive Introduction to Differential Geometry, Volume 1; Loomis: Advanced Calculus; and Helgason: Differential Geometry, Lie Groups and Symmetric Spaces all to be exceptionally well written.

The book, though thorough, did not meet my expectations for the application-based approach that I expected from a book aimed at Physicists instead of pure Mathematicians. Also, the type style/font employed made it difficult to read in many places.

Avoid

This title of this book and the whole "amnesia" idea is lifted DIRECTLY from Graham Hancock's book Fingerprints of the Gods, in fact, Hancock has a lecture entitled "A Species With Amnesia". The content of these books is a rehash of other people's work, completely unoriginal. Furthermore, this author is obviously creating multiple Amazon accounts to leave favorable rankings and reviews on his books. Click on the hyperlinks of the names of the people leaving five star reviews; all of them have left reviews on Sepehr's books only, all 5-star, and most left on the same day! The author's credentials seem nonexistent, and with 5 minutes of research I could plainly see that the majority of praise for his work online is fake.

Amazing book!

Robert Sepehr's ideas are fascinating and thought provoking. He weaves together current scientific facts, ancient myths, and dares to address what academia simply refuses to confront. This book was well researched, very informative and beautifully presented. I learned more from this book about our actual history regarding human origins than I did in all my years in school.

waste of money

The author Robert Sepehr, put way too much emphasis on the swastika sign and way way WAY too much emphasis on the Aryan race. Without actually coming out and saying so, the author seemed somehow sympathetic to Hitler's 3rd reich agenda and importance of the Aryan race. I can see the importance of making mention of these things in order to make a point, but not again and again. I believe the Author is either running a facebook group called the Sumerians [...] or is supported by them because they were touting this book (species with amnesia) as something special so after reading it, I left my opinion of the book on the sumerian's wall. WELL! It seems to me, cowardly, that the person running The Sumerians group have not only blocked my comments, but made it impossible for me to contact them for inquiry. If your knees get wobbly from a little honest criticism, you shouldn't be writing books and pretending to be somebody. There are way better authors who cover these same topics and do a much better job (Graham Hancock, comes to mind. If you want a book with substance, written by a man with back bone,[...].

A good mystery but with a disappointing end.

I am happy to know that an Indian mystery writer has joined the exclusive amazon book club. I have read many novels by Surendra Mohan Pathak and consider him a good mystery writer. In this book the atmosphere of the criminal side of Bombay city is well drawn. But the language seems to be contrived. It seems as if the language has been borrowed from the bollywood movies. The pace of the novel is fast. Once you start it you cannot leave it unfinished. But the end was very disappointing. The writer has tried to produce a rabbit out of the hat and he has miserably failed in his attempt. It is a forced end and is hard to digest.
